Call for contributions: Bioenergy towards net-zero/net-negative futures
IEA Bioenergy and collaborating organizations are launching a call for contributions to engage experts in assessing biomass production and use for energy in pathways toward net-zero/net-negative futures. The goal is to identify, synthesise, and share information on critical issues that determine the role of bioenergy in transitions toward net-zero/net-negative futures. In addition to learning from the results of recent and ongoing studies, a key goal is to examine how scientific studies address critical issues, such as the availability of biomass resources and the potential for synergistic or competitive interactions between bioenergy systems and other energy systems, as well as other land-based mitigation opportunities.
A selection of the submissions will be invited for presentation at a workshop held in conjunction with the 8th Central European Biomass Conference in Graz, Austria from January 21st to 23rd. All submissions within scope and of publishable quality will be offered inclusion in a report to be published after the workshop. A special collection in a peer-reviewed journal may also be considered.
